Dropping The Kitchen Plaster

Today I started to strip the plaster from the walls.  It's quite easy work with a club hammer and bolster chisel as it is very soft and loose.  However, also very dusty.  I started wearing a mask, but used it on and off, and as a consequence ended up in a bit of a state :

At this point I had an hour to get cleaned up and into a dress shirt, bow tie and dinner jacket for a South-West area amateur dramatics awards show.  The Weston-Super-Mare oscars !  My Daughter Vicki was in a pantomime last Christmas, and it had been nominated for a couple of awards.  The company had other nominations too, but unfortunately none of them were won.

The dropped plaster is being bagged up ready to be transported to the dump.  Skips are incredibly expensive these days and I think 2 or 3 trips in the car should see it all gone.  By end of day the wall containing the window, and up to the arch to the utility area was all done.  The other side of the room will be done during a hastily arranged day off on Tuesday.  Plasterer arrives Thursday.  This really is getting quite stressful.  We seen to have taken on a bigger proportion of the work on this project than we maybe expected, and it is all up against deadlines.  As my family and work colleagues will testify, my time management is not the best.
