Bookcase Installed, but Empty

The bookcase is now complete.  The electrician has been and completed the installation of the lighting, all the doors are fitted and now it is down to us to fill it.  Before we do, here are some views of the finished item.  First with the lights off :

Second, with the lights on :

It really is a beautiful piece of craftmanship - well worth the wait, and the cost.  At the start, we were in two minds about whether this was the best way.  We could have bought something factory made at half the cost, but instead we have invested in a local craftsman who tells us he enjoyed making it as much as we hope to enjoy having and using it.  Although it looks like built in furniture, it could actually be de-constructed and transported somewhere else in the future.  It could even be adapted, in the true 18th and 19th century style, to fit in a smaller or different shaped space.  Hopefully it will last us a lifetime.

Now, where are those boxes of books......
