So, What is Left ?

I would quite understand if, after all this time, and all these blog entries, you were to ask me "what on earth can there possibly be left to do on this extension project of yours ?"

So, seeing as you have gone and asked now, here are some lists.

  • Grouting of shower area.
  • Install shower screen.
  • Install shower.
  • Fit bath side panel.
  • Clean up and paint/stain beams.
  • Treat door with Danish oil, or similar.

  • Fix down the window cills.
  • Replace the mirror that got mysteriously broken a couple of weeks after it was installed and finish the tiling around it.
  • Fill and paint the skirting boards.
  • Fit a new basin waste (the current click-clack waste is awful - it drains slower than I can drink a pint......).
  • Screw the toilet and bidet to the floor.
  • Seal around the bath.
  • Adjust/replace the door lock.

Master Bedroom
  • Fix down the window cills.
  • Hang a curtain at the second window.
  • Shorten the curtains at the main window.
  • Treat door with Danish oil, or similar.

Victoria's Bedroom
  • Fill some of the big cracks that have formed, and paint over them.
  • Hang a curtain (she has been waiting for nearly 4 years now to have a curtain in her window. Shame on me.)

Landing & Stairs
  • Fit newel posts and landing balustrade.
  • Choose and fit a carpet.
  • Fix down one window cill, make and fit a second.
  • Hang curtains/blinds if required.

Loft
  • Finish the insulation.
  • Make a loft hatch cover.

Hallway
  • Replace doors to boiler cupboard, or clean up the current ones.
  • Fill and paint recently fitted skirting boards.

Dining Room
  • Fix down two window cills, make and fix a third.
  • Hang some curtains at two windows.

Conservatory
  • Choose and fit some light fittings.
  • Replace blown glass panels. ..... Or knock down the whole thing and start again....

Sitting Room
  • Fix relocated sockets into floor.
  • Get stairwell partition completed.
  • Get doorway between this room and dining room made and fitted.
  • Fix down threshold in front of balcony doors.
  • Fix down window cill.
  • Choose and fit carpet.
  • Choose and hang some new curtains.

Basement
  • Get staircase finished.
  • Fit TV coax outlets.
  • Get plasterer to skim the ceiling patch, then decorate it.
  • Cover in obsolete socket boxes after making good any connections required.
  • Hang curtains (we already have some !)
  • Choose and fit carpet.

and then there is the garden......... No, I will spare you that. I'll start a new blog so you have an opt-out, closure, escape clause, from this one !

Comments welcome Jan......
