Glass Fitted

The glass panels have been fitted to the stud partition around the stairwell to the basement. Upstairs there are double glazed panels made up of 4mm toughened glass and a 6mm air gap. The idea of this is to improve the sound insulation between the two rooms.

The lower panels are plain single skin 4mm toughened glass. It is not obvious from this picture, glass being see-through, but the final panel downstairs (the one with the awkward step cut-out that I described in a previous post) has not yet arrived, so this remains to be done.

The ceiling in the basement has also now been plasterboarded in readiness for our plasterer to return and do a skim coat to match it in with the existing ceiling.
