Door Update

I have rather lost my way over the last couple of weeks and very little progress of note has been made. Other things have taken my time. However, all will be different in the new year !!!

Today I have the opportunity to hang an internal door from scratch, for the first time. I have re-hung existing doors before, but never a brand new door in a brand new frame.

You may remember from my December 7th post, that I was having trouble locating a suitable door with flat panels. Well, the one referenced in the previous post turned out to be unsuitable, so I redoubled my internet research (thankyou google). I decided that the best match with the houses existing doors was "pitch pine" and found a suitable door that was sold through a number of retailers around the country. By "around the country", I mean everywhere except down here in the South West! Also, because I had left this so late, nobody was prepared to deliver before Christmas. I ended up having to take a day off on Thursday to make the round-trip to Wimborne in Dorset, to collect one of the few that seem to be in stock.

You see what I mean about losing my way ? What a waste of time and money to have to make that trip, just because of earlier procrastination. I feel a New Years Resolution coming on..... !
