Mirror Frames
These are just strips of thin ply bonded to the wall with "Gripfill" (other adhesives are available). In places where the wall is "high", the frame is planed thinner, and in places where it is "low" there are spacers inserted. The lattice surface is consequently perfectly flat, which it needs to be as glass is not very flexible.
I have built a similar frame in the other bathroom. For some reason I did not blog it, but we had purchased a mirror for the other bathroom back in 2009. This was 4 pieces of thin bevel edged glass, mounted on a 4 mm ply backing. Unfortunately only a matter of days after installing it, the thin beveled edges got broken in a couple of places. It remains a mystery how this happened, and nobody in the household has owned up to any accidents. Now that broken mirror has been levered off of the wall, and a frame like the above built to take another piece of plane 6mm mirror glass. I intend to bond both in place at the same time.
