Plastering

Back in November 2011 I completed the pasterboarding of the part of the basement ceiling that had been left for the spiral staircase, then in March I extended the ethernet, telephone and TV coax cables in the living room so that the outlets could be moved.  This meant I just had one or two small tasks to complete before I could get the plasterer in to finish off those bits.  He came and checked what needed doing, then suggested I call him once I was ready.

Well, as usual, it took longer than I predicted to get those small tasks done (mainly just fixing a small block of plasterboard inside the obsolete socket pattreses so he could just skim over them), but around a month ago I made contact with a view to getting him back.  He turned up unexepectedly this morning, ready to do the work.  I think there was a communication breakdown earlier in the week, probably my fault.  Anyway, we were not going to turn away a willing workman, so today he has applied the bonding in some of the areas where a deeper fill was needed, and sometime next week he will return to do the final skim coat.
