Shower

Four years ago we purchased a shower and a cubicle.  In November 2011 I fixed some problems with the tiling, and did the grouting.  Prior to that, in March 2011 I had one of the glass panels of the shower enclosure remade to match the slanting profile of the ceiling.  However, since then it has all been neglected, the component parts standing around in the bathroom gathering dust.

However, today was the day we finally started to do something about it.  The start point is a tiled area above the shower tray with two cappped off pipes sticking out of the wall :

The pipes were cut off to within 15mm of the wall and the mixer unit fitted over the top.  The tile had been pre-drilled with fixing holes so this stage was quite straightforward.  The rest of the fitting process continued :
The shower is simply a mixer unit taking a mains pressure hot water feed from the gas combi boiler, so there are no electical connections, just a mixer and diverter valve that selects either the overhead drencher, or handheld unit.  Here it is nearing completion, just missing the coverplate for the mixer :

Tomorrow, the enclosure.....
