Staircase Support

Underneath the staircase to the basement, I had forgotten that there was a big chunk of softwood acting as a temporary support for the corner during installation.  During a rare clean up I happened to spot this and have made up a more permanent "foot" to take it's place.

I scribed the angles onto a block of oak and cut some shoulders on two sides :


This then fits into the angle of the skirting boards and provides an extra bit of support.  It is just held in place by gripfill :


I see there is a piece of unpained skirting board too......
