Acoustic Insulation

I finally chose the insulation to use for the stud wall separating the bedroom from the bathroom. Rockwool "Flex" comes in 1200x600 mm bats and supposedly has good acoustic as well as thermal insulating properties. I have opted for 50mm which fits between the studs of the wall, and sits snuggly against the inside edge of the intervening stud for the reverse side of the wall. In plan it will look like this, with two 50mm thicknesses and a void between :

Then the plasterboard goes snugly over the top, as before, not quite reaching the floor :

The above view is looking towards the entrance, which Jan has now decided needs a door. Previously, this was going to be left open. There is a little more frame to build here, therefore.

Can't think that far ahead. Anyway, we would need to make a decision about colour.......
