Football Stadium

The roof of the scaffolding has been completed, and we have had at least one comment from a neighbour about building a football stadium :

The irony of this is that it was supposed to allow the builders to get on with the job whatever the weather. In fact :
  1. The weather has been fine ever since this idea was kicked into reality
  2. The builders have been absent for a fair proportion of the time it has taken to erect the scaffold, so they don't get things dropped on them.

In fact it is slightly worse than this because, in the trade, I gather that scaffolders are notoriously unreliable. Our gang were supposed to turn up yesterday to put some netting or something around the sides. The builders were absent to allow them to get on with it, but they didn't show up. Same story today. Basically, a fairly unproductive week so far.

My guess is that the place will be crawling tomorrow...
