Storage
Discussions with the builder late last week indicated that it is likely that at least one of the walls of the existing lounge will need to be taken out and rebuilt within 2 to 3 weeks. This has added a little extra impetus to arranging temporary storage for our furnishings.
One of the options we are considering is a container in the garden. We are looking at an ISO standard shipping container 20'x8'x8' approx. These are very secure, lined with plywood, clean and dry. You can either hire on a daily rate, plus delivery and removal costs, or you can buy one, with a guarantee that the seller will buy it back at half price (provided it is not too much later !). Of course, you can also try to sell on the open market.
We are considering the latter option. However, the interest of the company we were dealing with seems to have waned since we sent them some digital photos of the site, and the access ! They have suggested we need to pay them to do a site survey. We don't yet know how much this is going to cost !
