Slow Progress

Apologies for the lack of postings recently, but actually not much has changed. The stonework has gradually been built up and is now nearing the top level of this floor. The builders have been busy, but it is a slow process. They are very meticulous about choosing the right stone, and chipping away at it until it is the right size and shape. This takes time, which is frustrating in one way, but long term we appreciate the craftmanship and quality of work being done.

The one development is in the stone mullion window at the front. This is now complete other than the "eyebrow" detailing that sits on top :

Once again the builders have been meticulous about fitting the component parts together, and everything is square, upright and level. We think it looks really good. The opening at the back, for the patio doors is also progressing. One more side-part to fit and then it will be ready to lift the very heavy lintel component on top. Photos of this will follow next time.
