Revised Piling Plan

The 5th December start date for the piling is now confirmed. Details of the latest proposal are reproduced below :

Compare with the similar drawing from one month ago. The double row of piles support a 1m beam that will carry the retaining wall for the sloping ground, and the walls of the building.

I called the Building Inspector this morning, just to make sure he had received notification of the proposed works and start date. He was non-commital and said he would check our file and call me back. The call back never came, and I assume he was chasing up the structural engineer for clarification. I will follow this up again tomorrow morning.

The groundworks contractor should be coming tomorrow to clear the site and mark out the positions for the works. However, we have just had a huge snowfall, so this may change....
