Second Frame Completed

The remaining section of dry-lining framework has been completed today :

I was rather concerned that the old skirting board had some rot in it, so I have opted to line out the bottom section of wall with some double-width DPC membrane, just in case there is a little dampness in this wall. Once more, the door lining has been extended to reach the new wall level.

This picture also shows the two capped off pipes for the radiator that will be mounted here. You can also see that I have temporarily mounted the radiator brackets so that the plumbing can be completed and then the radiator dismounted for final plastering. In fact the sequence will need to be slightly more complex, even that that :
  1. Drain down heating system.
  2. Hang radiator on temporary fixings
  3. Make up and fix pipework to turn the feeds 90 degrees out from wall, directly underneath final valve positions.
  4. Remove radiator and temporary fixings.
  5. Cut appropriate holes in plasterboard, and fix it.
  6. Hang radiator on permanent fixings.
  7. Complete pipework to valves.
  8. Remove radiator in readiness for plaster skim coat.

The slight risk here is that the joints behind the plasterboard will not have been pressure tested for leaks..... Oh well, time to live dangerously !
