Bath In Action
The bath has now been lifted into place for the final (?) time and brought into use. The big question was whether emptying it would cause problems in the shower waste. If you remember from a previous blog entry I was concerned that syphon action from the draining bath might pull the water out of the U=bend of the shower trap. Worse, because of the lack of slope on the main waste pipe (again commented on previously) it could result in the bath water back-flowing into the shower.
Fortunately my fears were unfounded. Emptying a full bath causes the water in the shower trap to move slightly, but does not affect the level at all. No leaks either ! As a result, I have issued a license for use and full advantage is now being taken. Temporarily the electrical connections for the lights and bubbles are made with an extension-lead and plugs, as the electrician has not yet connected up the fused fixed supply that I installed.
The bubble blower is quite noisy, but you tend not to notice when you are actually in the bath, experiencing the full effect. The lights are quite funky, as my assistant shall demonstrate :
As you can see, the whole thing is far from complete, with the clutter for the shower in the background, and the obviously missing front panel for the bath. A small milestone, none-the-less.

Loved the piccies - especially the "water baby". Is it open to the Public? How about IF the shower were in use simultaneously?Only joking! Well done.

For the shower to be in use simultaneously, it would pre-suppose that the bather - the good Lady of the house, had allowed somebody else into her private domain. I think that is top of the list of things that aren't likely !
