Tile Drilling, Part 2

Equipped with rotary tile saws tipped with diamond dust, Dad's pillar drill and a watering can, short work was made of the required tap holes. Mum even managed to master the camera enough to capture the moment :

The hole for the basin waste was beyond the range of the pillar drill (the pillar got in the way) but Dad improvised by removing the head and sitting it on two blocks of wood that he had glued together and shaped to fit. All 5 holes were done within an hour. Such a difference from the fiasco of a couple of days ago !
Progress has also been made on the rest of the "pod" in which the bath will sit. The frame on the wall was extended out to meet a pillar constructed from 25mm ply :

The pillar is very simply constructed around a triangle of ply screwed and glued to the floor :

The gap between the pillar and the wall is for provision of a removable access panel allowing access to the plumbing and for adjustment of the bath legs. At the other end, a similar panel will provide access to the electrics for the bath (ooooo errrrrr !).

With both pillars built, some tiles were cut to fix on top.

The tiles are not yet attached, but Jan plans to do some tiling this coming week.
