Buildings Inspector
Apparently a Buildings Inspector did come this week, and declared himself very happy with what has been done so far. He does not envisage needing to come again until the roofing timbers are in place.
The inner wall of the next storey is now approaching 6 foot tall all the way around, with the outer wall a little way behind. This is down to the jointing methods again - it just goes to show how much quicker the new method with the thermalites actually is. We are fast approaching the point of manoevering the second beam into place. However, they may opt to complete the external stonework first, so that the scaffold can be lifted to the next level to make the beam moving easier.
Speaking , as I did in the first paragraph, of the roof - we have still not had any figures from the builder about this part of the job. It was the end of June that we asked him to quote, so I have reminded him that we are still waiting.
