The Carpet is Here....

So the carpet delivery, and the fitters, were due at 09:00 yesterday.  I wanted the fitters to do me a favour, taking up a carpet in the spare room so we can redocorate, so I thought the least I should do is make them some tea.  At 08:30 the milkman (remember them ?  - well we still have them here in Gloucestershire) hadn't been, so I head off to the local shop to buy a pint.  When I get back 10 minutes later, the lorry driver, two fitters, and the milkman are all on my doorstep wondering where I am !

The carpet is big and heavy, and they need me to help offloading it from the lorry and shifing it onto the deck, ready to come in through the back doors.

Underlay and grippers are fixed, tea is drunk, then I again assist with manouevering the carpet into the room.  An hour or so later it is all fitted, and it looks and smells great :

We haven't moved any furniture back in yet.  Jan and I just look at it from the doorway !

They have left me a cut oblong of carpet to fit in the well of the floorbox, which now has it's lid back on :
