Bathroom Tiling Completed

For one reason or another, progress has stalled a little since the plastering and fireplace fitting. However, one task that is now complete, other then grouting, is the tiling of the shower area.

I moved the wooden batten onto the other wall and fixed the easy 4 "whole" tiles. The two into the corner then had to be cut length-ways. Because of slight unevenness in the wall (or maybe my levels !) neither was a parallel cut, which makes things quite difficult with a table-top disk tile cutter. I had to dispense with the tile guide altogether, and clamp a piece of timber to the tile at the correct angle. This timber then runs against the edge of the cutting table. It is quite laborious and cumbersome, but does the job.

I was a little concerned about fixing the tiles to the sloping soffit, so rigged up some sprung pieces of timber to hold the tiles in place while the adhesive cured :

I am sure these firstly did not help much, and secondly, weren't required, but it's a peace of mind thing !

With the soffit complete, the batten was removed and the remaining tiles slotted in the bottom :
