Scaffold, Windows & Electrics

The last of the scaffold was finally taken away this week. This means that you can finally see the rear elevation properly :

We had a visit from the window suppliers who needed to iron out some final details. I still can't get them to give me a date for the final installation of the remaining windows and the doors. However, the door manufacture is done in Cheltenham, and their glass supplier is in Gloucester, both towns of which are partially flooded at the moment, so maybe it is understandable.

We have accepted a quote to do the electrical work, which is a little disappointing as I wanted to do this myself. However, speed is of the essence, so it is probably best in the long run. You may remember that I had asked one of the electricians to quote not only for the whole job, but also for certifying DIY. I don't think he was very keen on the latter, as he gave me an hourly rate, but no indication of how many hours he thought would be needed.

Getting an acceptable quote from a plumber has proved more difficult.....
