Weekend Working

At about 13:00 the Groundworks Contractor knocked on the door and asked if we minded him doing a bit of work. The Structural Engineer called him this morning to pass on details of the raft, and he wants to level and compact the site in advance of that meeting. Also, he has a new job starting on Monday for which he needs the heavy digger, so wanted to use it for the compacting before replacing it with a smaller machine.

Apparently the Structural Engineer has a meeting booked with his partner to ratify the design (at last - some evidence of peer review !) on Monday morning. He then wants to have a site meeting probably Monday of Tuesday to go over the fine detail with the Groundworks Contractor.

The site has now been levelled and compacted. There may be some minor scraping still to do to adjust the levels, but the site is basically ready now.
