Steel Decision

We "ummed and arred" over the weekend, trying to decide between the chunky, brutish, over engineered lump of a 203 beam, and the elegant, thin, cheap, lightweight 305.

In the end, in order to maximise ceiling height, and avoid a downstand, we went for the heavy weight monster. We will batten the ceiling to "lose" the unavoidable 33mm step.

The builder was not unduly perturbed, and we have offered to supply muscle power if it is required when it comes to manoevring it into position.
